You have a problem you might not realize you have.

Your network is full of potential. Hundreds, maybe thousands of contacts accumulated over years of meetings, conferences, LinkedIn connections, and email exchanges. Somewhere in that list are people who could transform your quarter — the perfect-fit prospect, the strategic referral partner, the advisor who opens doors you didn't know existed.

But you can't find them. Because all your contacts look the same: a name, a title, a company, and maybe a last-contacted date. Nothing tells you who deserves your attention right now, who aligns with what you're actually trying to achieve, and who — respectfully — isn't worth a follow-up this quarter.

So you do what everyone does: you default to recency (whoever you met last), volume (call everyone), or gut feel (seems like a good fit). All three are unreliable. All three waste your most valuable resource: time spent on relationships that don't move the needle.

There's a better way. It's called compatibility scoring, and it's changing how the best sales professionals and relationship builders prioritize their networks.

What Is Compatibility Scoring?

At its core, compatibility scoring answers a deceptively simple question: How well does this specific contact align with what I'm trying to accomplish right now?

Not "are they a lead?" Not "are they in my target industry?" Those are binary filters that miss nuance. Compatibility scoring is a spectrum — a 0-to-100 assessment that weighs dozens of signals to tell you exactly how relevant a relationship is to your current goals.

Here's what makes it different from traditional lead scoring:

Traditional Lead Scoring vs. Compatibility Scoring

| Traditional Lead Scoring | Compatibility Scoring | |---|---| | Based on firmographics (company size, industry, revenue) | Based on multi-dimensional alignment (goals, behavior, context, timing) | | Static — score stays the same until you manually update criteria | Dynamic — score shifts as your goals change or new information surfaces | | One-size-fits-all — same scoring model for every rep | Personalized — scores reflect your specific intentions and objectives | | Binary signals (opened email = +5, visited pricing = +10) | Contextual signals (posted about a problem you solve, company in growth mode, shared network connections) | | Tells you who's interested in you | Tells you who you should be interested in |

Traditional lead scoring waits for prospects to raise their hand. Compatibility scoring proactively identifies who you should be reaching out to — before they ever visit your website or open your email.

How Compatibility Scoring Works in Bappa Connect

When you research a contact in Bappa Connect, the AI doesn't just gather information — it evaluates that information against your defined intentions (your relationship goals) to produce a compatibility score.

The Scoring Inputs

The AI weighs signals across five categories:

1. Goal Alignment (30% of score) How directly does this contact's role, industry, and responsibilities map to what you're trying to achieve? If your intention is "close enterprise SaaS deals" and the contact is a VP of Engineering at a Series B SaaS company, that's high goal alignment. If they're a marketing coordinator at a local bakery, less so.

2. Timing Signals (25% of score) Is now the right moment? The AI looks for indicators that suggest this contact is in a state of change or need:

  • Recent job change (new leaders make new buying decisions)
  • Company funding event (budget is available)
  • Hiring activity in relevant departments (scaling = spending)
  • Public statements about challenges you can address
  • Industry shifts that create urgency

3. Behavioral Signals (20% of score) What is this person actively doing that suggests receptivity?

  • Publishing content about problems in your domain
  • Engaging with thought leadership in your space
  • Joining relevant communities or attending conferences
  • Connecting with people in adjacent roles

4. Network Proximity (15% of score) How connected are you already? Warm paths close deals faster than cold outreach.

  • Mutual connections (especially strong ties)
  • Shared alma mater or past employer
  • Common community memberships
  • Previous interactions or touchpoints

5. Profile Completeness (10% of score) How much can the AI actually learn? A contact with a robust LinkedIn presence, active social accounts, and company visibility scores higher simply because there's more data to work with — and more conversation hooks available.

The Score in Practice

The result is a number from 0 to 100, but the real value is in what it enables:

  • 90-100: Hot match. This person is highly aligned with your goals, the timing is right, and you have a natural path in. Prioritize immediately.
  • 70-89: Strong fit. Good alignment with some timing or proximity gaps. Worth active outreach with a tailored approach.
  • 50-69: Moderate fit. Potential exists but the connection isn't urgent. Add to a nurture sequence or revisit when your goals shift.
  • 30-49: Weak fit. Limited alignment right now. Don't spend active time here unless circumstances change.
  • 0-29: Not a fit. No meaningful alignment with current objectives. Archive and move on.

Why This Changes Everything

Before Compatibility Scoring

Monday morning. You look at your contact list and think: "Who should I reach out to this week?" You scroll through names, vaguely remembering conversations, half-recognizing faces. You end up emailing the five people you remember most clearly — not the five people most likely to advance your goals.

By Friday, you've had two decent conversations and three dead ends. You feel busy but not productive.

After Compatibility Scoring

Monday morning. You open your Bappa Connect leaderboard. Your contacts are ranked by compatibility score against your current intention: "Close mid-market fintech deals Q2."

The top 10 are immediately clear. #1 is a VP of Product at a payment processing startup that just raised Series A — compatibility score: 94. You share a mutual connection and she posted last week about needing better data tooling.

#5 is someone you met at a conference six months ago and forgot about — a COO at a lending platform with a compatibility score of 82. His company is hiring three engineers, which signals growth investment.

You reach out to both with personalized messages informed by the AI's research. By Friday, you have two discovery calls booked with prospects who are genuinely a fit.

Same effort. Radically different results.

The Leaderboard Effect

Bappa Connect doesn't just score individual contacts — it ranks your entire network. The Research Leaderboard shows your top contacts sorted by compatibility, filterable by intention.

This creates a powerful feedback loop:

  1. Set an intention (e.g., "Build strategic partnerships in healthcare tech")
  2. Research your contacts (import from LinkedIn, CRM, phone, or CSV)
  3. Review the leaderboard — your highest-compatibility contacts surface to the top
  4. Take action on the top 10, using conversation hooks and talking points from the research
  5. Refine your intention as your goals evolve — the leaderboard re-ranks automatically

Instead of managing a static list, you're working from a dynamic, always-prioritized pipeline of relationships.

Real-World Applications

For Sales Professionals

The scenario: You have 500 contacts from the last three conferences and no idea which ones to follow up with.

Without scoring: You send a generic "great meeting you" email to all 500. Open rate: 12%. Response rate: 2%. Meetings booked: 3.

With scoring: You research all 500. The top 50 (compatibility 70+) get personalized outreach referencing specific details from their profiles. The next 150 get segmented, tailored emails. The bottom 300 get a nurture drip. Meetings booked from the top 50 alone: 12.

For Real Estate Agents

The scenario: You have a growing network of past clients, referral sources, and community contacts. You need to stay top of mind with the right people.

Without scoring: You send the same monthly newsletter to everyone. Some clients who bought last year get the same "hot market update" as people who just closed last week.

With scoring: You set intentions for "buyer referrals" and "seller leads." Contacts score differently against each. Your top buyer-referral contacts get personal check-ins. Your top seller-lead contacts get market data relevant to their neighborhood. Everyone else gets the newsletter. Your referral rate doubles because the right people feel personally attended to.

For Founders

The scenario: You're raising a seed round and need to prioritize which investors to pitch.

Without scoring: You spray and pray across 100 VCs from a Crunchbase list. Most don't invest in your stage, sector, or geography. You get 5 meetings after 80 hours of research and outreach.

With scoring: You research 100 VCs through Bappa Connect. 22 score above 75 — they invest at your stage, have portfolio companies in adjacent spaces, and show recent interest in your sector. You focus your energy on those 22 with deeply personalized outreach. You get 11 meetings from 15 hours of work.

The Intention Layer

What makes compatibility scoring truly powerful is the intention system behind it.

Traditional scoring is one-dimensional: this lead is good or bad for your business. But you're not one-dimensional. You have multiple goals running simultaneously:

  • Close Q2 pipeline
  • Build a referral network in financial services
  • Find a technical co-founder
  • Expand into the European market

Each intention re-weights the scoring model. A contact who's a 90 for "close Q2 pipeline" might be a 30 for "find a technical co-founder." The same network, evaluated through different lenses, reveals completely different priorities.

Bappa Connect lets you define multiple intentions and switch between them. Your leaderboard reshuffles instantly. The contacts who matter most for what you're working on right now are always at the top.

Getting Started with Compatibility Scoring

The free tier of Bappa Connect includes everything you need to experience compatibility scoring:

  1. Define your first intention — Choose from the intention gallery or create your own. Be specific: "Close mid-market SaaS deals" is better than "grow revenue."
  2. Add 10 contacts — Import from LinkedIn, your phone, or enter manually.
  3. Research them — 10 free AI research actions. Each produces a full profile with compatibility score.
  4. Check your leaderboard — See your contacts ranked by how well they fit your goal.
  5. Act on the top 3 — Use the conversation hooks and talking points to reach out with confidence.

You'll know within those first 10 researches whether compatibility scoring changes how you work. For most people, seeing their network ranked by actual relevance for the first time is an "I can't go back" moment.

Stop Guessing. Start Scoring.

Your network is your most valuable professional asset. But an unscored network is like an unsorted inbox — full of potential value buried under noise.

Compatibility scoring doesn't just help you find the right people. It helps you find the right people for the right goal at the right time. It turns your contact list from a passive directory into an active strategic tool.

The best sales professionals, founders, and relationship builders don't just have bigger networks. They have better intelligence about who in their network matters most, right now.

That intelligence is a 90-second research away.
